Fatal stabbing on Chamblee Dunwoody Road Memorial Day

Authorities are still searching for a fourth suspect in the deadly incident.

CHAMBLEE, Ga. — Three men are facing charges after one man was stabbed to death and another was hospitalized near a Chamblee shopping center on Memorial Day, according to police.

Authorities said the incident began with a verbal argument between two groups, a total of seven men, that escalated into a fight and stabbing. It happened around 6:35 p.m. Monday at the plaza at 3160 Chamblee Dunwoody Road, on the sidewalk.

Chamblee police said one of the suspects walked up behind one of the victims and stabbed him twice. The police department said the 24-year-old victim was seriously injured and remained hospitalized in Grady.

Another victim, police identified as Delmar Gerardo Hernandez-Perez, 29, was stabbed in the chest and died at the hospital.

Investigators believe that after the stabbing, three of the suspects got into a taxi. That's when police say another taxi driver saw what happened and stopped the taxi, with the suspects on board, from leaving.

The suspects then got out of the car and ran toward the farmers' market, where they got into another taxi, authorities said. A Chamblee police officer who was working at the farmers' market was alerted by the taxi driver who had stopped the other taxi that the suspects were involved in the deadly altercation, police said.

Authorities said the officer stopped the taxi and took the three suspects into custody.

Adrian Sanchez Ayuzo, 37, faces charges of murder and aggravated assault, and the other two are charged with participating in a crime in connection with the incident, according to police.

Authorities are still searching for a fourth suspect in the deadly altercation.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Chamblee Police Department at (770) 986-5005.
