Fatal stabbing near USC after witness interrupts car burglary – NBC Los Angeles

The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating a fatal stabbing at USC's Greek Row Monday night after they say a witness interrupted a car burglary and fatally stabbed the suspected burglar.

Police said the incident is being investigated as a homicide. There appears to have been some sort of confrontation between the witness and the person who broke into a vehicle, police said.

The assault happened around 8 p.m. and appears to have taken place outside a fraternity house.

The victim was a man believed to be in his thirties. Police said the witness was in custody.

Although USC is free for the summer, some students said they are staying in their fraternity and sorority houses.
