Fatal shooting suspect at One17 SofaBar in Greensboro arrested in Phoenix, Arizona, Greensboro police say

GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — Man charged with first-degree murder after a fatal shooting in Greensboro earlier this year was arrested Friday in Arizona and is awaiting extradition to North Carolina, according to a news release from the Greensboro Police Department.

Around 2:07 a.m. on Feb. 25, officers, firefighters and EMS responded to the 100 block of North Greene Street after reports of a shooting.


Two people were found with gunshot wounds and were transported to a local hospital.

Devonte Jamaal Stephenson, 24, was pronounced dead at the hospital. The second victim is considered to be in critical condition.

On Friday, Michal Michael Tyrone Styles, 27, was arrested in Phoenix, Arizona, on a warrant for first-degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill or inflict serious injuries.

Styles is being held in Phoenix and awaiting extradition to North Carolina.

Investigators determined a fight occurred outside One17 SofaBar, which led to the shooting.
