NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Metro Nashville Police have released the identity of the man killed in a head-on crash Saturday night on Murfreesboro Pike.

Police said Willie Coleman Jr., 64, died following the head-on crash in the 2800 block of Murfreesboro Pk. around 10:20 p.m.

Police say the preliminary investigation shows Coleman was driving a 2017 Chevrolet Cruze southbound when he crossed into the oncoming traffic and struck the driver of a 2020 Toyota RAV4. The driver of the RAV4 told officers the Cruze was traveling very slowly before the crash.

The driver of the RAV4 was not injured and both vehicles sustained “very little damage,” police said. Coleman was taken to Southern Hills Medical Center where doctors told police he may have suffered a medical condition before the crash.
