Family of missing Rayville man desperate for answers | KTVE

RAYVILLE, Louisiana. (KARD/KTVE)— Alex Earl Elder's family says it's been more than three years since they last saw or heard from him. Her mother says this is the longest they have been apart and she senses something is wrong.

“And I loved my son. When I feel like something is wrong with him, it's wrong with me. He can feel me, I can feel him when something is wrong. And I know something’s wrong,” said Bobbie Newman, Alex Elder’s mother.

He was last seen on Ouachita Street in Rayville in 2021, but the family says they haven't heard from him since November 2020. “We spoke on the phone every day. He lived with my grandmother, so I would visit him on weekends. But yeah, the last time I talked to him was November 2020, so that's probably the last time,” said Skylarr Elder, Alex Elder's daughter.

“Sky, she cried and cried every day because he and Sky are like that here. They close. She loves her daddy,” Bobbie said.

Mr. Elder simply disappeared and his family says they reported the incident several times to authorities. “My mom tried to pressure them to send help and look for him, but nothing worked,” Skylarr said.

Bobbie Newman said: “They told me they couldn’t find it. They don't know where he is and I just stopped running up there, you know?

His mother remembers the last time she saw him. “The last time I saw him, I told him not to go anywhere. Stay with mommy. Nahh mommy, I gotta go for a walk, I gotta do this. I said okay, bye. I’ll see you later when you come. That was it, baby. I haven’t seen him in a long, long, long time. Two years and six months,” she said.

There were many prayers, tears and sleepless nights for a worried mother and daughter. “I cried for my baby because he needs to be with me. He needs. He's out there in this lonely world. It is unknown where he is in this lonely world. I don't know if my baby has warm clothes, blankets, stuff and a place to lay his head. I thought about it with my heart,” his mother expressed.

Skylarr said: “There hasn't been a day that has gone by that we haven't talked. So, I feel like he wouldn't fall off the face of the Earth and lose contact with just anyone. It's just not like him.

Here is a message from his family to Mr. Elder: “I would tell him to come home and I love him,” Bobbie said. “I miss him, I love him and I want him to come home, but I really wouldn't understand (if he's okay and alive) why he wouldn't contact me for four years,” her daughter said.

Call Crime Stoppers at 318-388-CASH for information on Mr. Elder's whereabouts.
