Family of missing North Memphis man keeps vigil at his last known location

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — More than two weeks after a North Memphis man went missing, his family held a vigil and took to the streets Sunday in hopes of finding their loved one.

As his family gathered at a North Memphis gas station near Jackson Avenue, prayers were said for missing 42-year-old Ryan Moore.

On the street, family members handed out flyers, hoping someone would recognize him.

They told WREG they chose this meeting location because, according to information they received, it was the last place Moore was seen on June 11.

“I called the hospital, I called everywhere and I broke down because it was my oldest son,” said Maryanne Moore, Ryan's mother. “He’s never done this before.”

Maryanne Moore said that four days before his disappearance, the father of three was admitted to Regional One for dehydration, low blood sugar and high blood pressure.

“I knew he was in the hospital, I was there with him almost every day,” Maryanne Moore said. “So, I knew that, but I never thought he would leave.”

She told WREG that Regional One called her to tell her Ryan was pacing and acting strange just a day before she was last seen.

However, when she called back the next day for a check-up, they said he had been released from the hospital.

This left Maryanne Moore with lingering questions not only for the hospital but also for the police.

“I need to know why it was filed,” Maryanne Moore said. “Number two, why hasn’t there been a report, you know? Third, they need to give me more information about why my son was dropped off here.

With the current high temperatures and Ryan's potential mental state, time is running out if they want to find him safe.

“It’s getting harder and harder because I need to know where he is,” Maryanne Moore said. “Please let me know if anyone has any information.”

The family tells WREG they will post more of Ryan Moore's fliers around the gas station where he was last seen and in the surrounding area, hoping the chances of finding their loved one will increase.

If you have any information, you are encouraged to call Memphis Police.
