Family of missing 15-year-old San Antonio girl fears worst in her disappearance

Iza Rodriguez left her northwest home early Sunday morning. Her family is concerned she may have met someone online pretending to be a minor.

SAN ANTONIO — It's been four days since the family of 15-year-old Iza Rodriguez last heard from her.

They said she left her northwest home early Sunday morning and were concerned she had met someone online posing as a minor.

Iza's family said they feared the worst about her disappearance.

“Every day that passes, the thoughts of where she is, who she is with or where she could be, become more and more frightening,” said Gwendolyn Laport, Iza's sister.

Iza's family said she left her home in The Park subdivision in Vista Del Norte, leaving a back door open. That was the last time anyone heard from him.

“She hasn’t contacted any of her friends. She didn’t contact any of us,” Laport said.

Gwendolyn said she took a few things, but she didn't take any clothes. She also said Iza left her phone behind, which showed worrying activity.

“When we looked at her phone, we realized she was talking to a stranger online,” Laport said.

Iza's family said they tried to talk to her about the dangers of talking to strangers online, but felt someone might have taken advantage of her.

“Everyone was a teenager once, you know. You think you know everything in the world. It’s so scary out there,” Laport said.

Iza's disappearance has caused her family a lot of stress and they say they just want her to come home.

“Please come home. We miss her, we love her. You know, I don't know if she thinks that she's gone this far, that she might get into even more trouble. Like I was coming home. We are very worried about her,” Laport said.

If you have any information on Iza's whereabouts, you are asked to contact the San Antonio Police Missing Persons Unit at 210-207-7660.
