Family frustrated by Amazon driver who saw fire

ABOUT THAT. AND JEN, THE OWNER SAYS HE DON'T BLAME THE AMAZON DRIVER, BUT SAYS THIS SHOULD BE A LEARNING MOMENT. Now that homeowner's name is Peter Mcardle and that's where he came home Saturday after a call that his house was on fire. IT WAS BURNING FOR MORE THAN THREE HOURS WHEN A PASSENGER NOTICED THE FLAMES AND CALLED 911. BUT HOURS EARLIER, HOME SURVEILLANCE VIDEO SHOWS AN AMAZON DRIVER WALKS THROUGH THE SMOKE TO DROP OFF A PACKAGE. BUT THEY NEVER CALLED FOR HELP. The awareness is really just, you know, on the road, if you see something, say something like they say it. BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY, IF YOU SEE A FIRE, UM, MAYBE CALL 911 OR THE FIRE FIRE BEFORE YOU MAKE YOUR NEXT DELIVERY. NOW MCARDLE SAYS HE CALLED AMAZON AND WAS TOLD NO MANAGER WOULD TAKE HIS CALL BECAUSE THE FIRE WAS NOT THEIR FAULT. WCVB CONTACTED AMAZON DIRECTLY AND THE COMPANY PROVIDED US THIS WRITTEN STATEMENT STATING, QUOTE, WE ARE ATTEMPTING TO CONTACT THE CUSTOMER TO APOLOGIZE THEIR INITIAL INTERACTION WITH OUR CUSTOMER SERVICE TEAM. WE ENCOURAGE DRIVERS TO REPORT SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY AND INVESTIGATE THIS INCIDENT. THE MCARDLE FAMILY IS NOW LOOKING FOR A PLACE TO STAY WHILE THEIR HOUSE IS REPAIRED.
