Family believes body found in Garza Co. is missing loved one

LUBBOCK, Texas — On Thursday, the Department of Public Safety confirmed a body was found near Highway 380, east of Post. Authorities have not released the identity of the body, but one family believes it is their loved one, who has been missing since June 3.

Since the disappearance of his brother Mitchell, Cameron Morrison has not had much news. Cameron Morrison is desperate for more answers for his brother Mitchell.

This week, Morrison discovered via social media that a body had been found seven miles from where his brother's truck was found on June 3.

Morrison learned the body was possibly that of his brother after hearing from the Garza County Sheriff's Office who said the body's description matched Mitchell's tattoos.

“My brother died like an animal and no one should die alone like that,” Morrison said.

Morrison believes that if his brother had been found when authorities found his truck, he might be alive today.

“If they had done their job, he would be alive,” Morrison said.

Mitchell's family is heartbroken and wants the answers they have been waiting for over two weeks.

“I want closure because just putting it out there isn’t enough,” Morrison said. “I want to know what happened because he was just fine.”

According to the preliminary investigation, authorities found no evidence of foul play. DPS said there is no threat to the public.
