Evacuations lifted following trail fire near Red Rock Road | News

Update, 9:00 p.m.:

The Trail Fire is now 20% contained and has burned 350 acres. From 9 p.m., all evacuations are lifted. Firefighters will stay there all night to make sure there is no fire.

UPDATE, 6:45 p.m.:

According to the Washoe County Sheriff's Office, North Virginia Street is closed between Stead and Red Rock due to the presence of multiple fire crews in the area.

It is advisable to avoid the area and take a different route if possible.

UPDATE:

A bushfire in the Northern Valleys has prompted evacuations in the region.

People are strongly encouraged to evacuate from southern US 395 between Copperfield Drive and Lemmon Drive, according to a Washoe County article on X.

Washoe County released an image of an evacuation zone for the fire, dubbed the Trail Fire.

People are advised to evacuate to North Valleys High School on East Golden Valley Road.









The fire has grown to approximately 100 acres according to a social media post from Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue.

Air support to help extinguish the fire is expected soon, according to a message from Washoe County.

No structures are threatened at this time.
