Evacuation orders issued as 500-acre bushfire burns near Gorman

A massive 500-acre brush fire forced evacuation orders near Gorman on Saturday.

The fire, dubbed the Post Fire, was first reported shortly after 1:45 p.m. near Gorman Road and southbound I-5, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Firefighters say structures are threatened by the fire and evacuation orders have been issued.

According to the Santa Clarita Sheriff's Station, deputies and search and rescue teams are assisting with evacuations in the Hungry Valley State Vehicular Recreation Area and near Pyramid Lake.

The fire could grow to 1,000 acres by the end of the day due to wind in the area.

The National Weather Service says winds in the area could reach speeds of up to 60 miles per hour starting around 10 p.m. Saturday night, which could accelerate the spread of the flames.

This is a developing story. Check back for more details.
