Evacuation order issued as Red Fire spreads near Lake Isabella and evacuation center opens

UPDATE (6:05 p.m.): The Red Cross said it was opening a temporary shelter for wildfire evacuees affected by the Red Light.

The address is 6405 Lake Isabella Boulevard, the Lake Isabella Community Center.

UPDATE (4:29 p.m.): An evacuation order was issued to an area east of Bodfish due to the red light.

According to Genasys Protect, the evacuation order was issued to area 748-A. People in the area are advised to leave now.

The area is: Bodfish Canyon

An evacuation warning has been issued for an area east and southeast of Bodfish due to a fire.

The Kern County Fire Department said the so-called Red Fire was burning near Red Hill Road in Lake Isabella.

The Red Fire has burned five acres and is spreading, according to KCFD.

According to Genasys Protect, an evacuation warning has been issued for areas 748 and 733.

Residents living in these areas are urged to be prepared as there is a potential threat.
