Estranged husband taken into custody in connection with disappearance of Dodge County woman

The Dodge County Sheriff's Office announced earlier this week that investigators were able to examine Crystal Rasch's finances. Dodge County woman missing since June 11.

They discovered that numerous transactions had taken place using his financial accounts. In a criminal complaint filed Friday, June 28, 2024, he said Crystal's ex-husband, Zachariah Rasch, 42, of rural Clyman, was responsible for these transactions and that they were processed without consent. . As a result, he was arrested on numerous counts of alleged unauthorized use of an individual's personally identifiable information. The criminal complaint was filed in Dodge County Circuit Court on June 28.

Zachariah Rasch made his first appearance in court today at 12:45 p.m. and the court commissioner found probable cause. A $250,000 cash bond was issued and he remains in custody at the Dodge County Jail.

The Sheriff's Office continues to investigate the disappearance of Crystal Rasch and while it is still a missing person investigation, given the information that was discovered and made public today, they are also processing this case as one in which a serious crime was probably committed.

The department reiterates that only authorized law enforcement professionals are allowed to participate in the search for Crystal and the investigation of this case in order to maintain the integrity of the investigation, saying they have much more knowledge about his disappearance than they are able to divulge. However, as with any criminal matter, they are unable to release additional information as the integrity of the investigation and potential criminal prosecution that may result must be preserved.

On Tuesday, June 25, 2024, the Adams County Sheriff's Office was requested to assist the Dodge County Sheriff's Office with the missing person investigation.

During the Dodge County Sheriff's Office investigation, it was determined that Rasch may have recently been in Adams County. Rasch has ties to two separate parcels of land in the town of Springville in Adams County. Due to the size of the parcel, a statewide request for assistance was made to other law enforcement agencies. On June 26 and 27, nearly 100 law enforcement officers from 28 departments searched these plots of land.
