Emmerdale fans disappointed by 'missing' scene in crash episode

Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Emmerdale fans have been left disappointed by a 'missing' scene in the soap's crash episode.

Last night's episode (May 9) saw Ethan Anderson and Nicky Miligan involved in a car crash as Ethan drove to pick up Suni Sharma, with both losing consciousness.

When Ethan came to, he managed to get Nicky out of the vehicle, but fled the scene when he saw Moira Dingle approaching, fearing he was over the legal alcohol limit.

However, fans watching the episode spoke out after the episode failed to show the actual accident, with Emmerdale instead showing Ethan speeding on the road before cutting to an ad break and then to return to the accident that took place.

“#Emmerdale We didn’t even see the car crash?” a spectator wrote on X (formerly Twitter), while another added: “A bit of a delay between the end of the episode and the next one. This could have shown a crash!”

“And…we don't see the crash,” said a third saidwhile a fourth echoes: “We didn't even get to see the accident? You're no fun anymore #emmerdale.”

“#Emmerdale we didn’t even have the crash,” another viewer wrote. “Unless there’s this new concept of flashbacks later.”

Following the shocking turn of events, Charles prepares to report Ethan to the police after learning of his son's involvement in the accident.

“There's always this battle between 'Charles the Vicar' and 'Charles the Man and the Father,'” star Kevin Mathurin told digital spy and other press. “He obviously wants to do right by his son. But with righteousness, the right thing is to admit it and bear the consequences.

“Charles will support Ethan no matter what. You can't take your own wheel, sometimes you have to give the wheel to God and see what happens.

“I think all parents will understand what Charles is going through, otherwise it will be a debate about 'what would I do as a parent'.

“I think it will raise this conversation: Would you want to do the right thing and live with that? Or would you want to keep that secret and also get involved and be complicit in the wrongdoing?”

Emmerdale is broadcast weeknights at 7:30 p.m. on ITV1 and broadcast on ITVX.
