Eminem references Megan Thee Stallion shooting in new song

Fans don't really know what to think Eminem raise Megan you stud And Tory Lanez shooting incident in his new single.

In the song “Houdini,” released Friday, May 31, Eminem, 51, raps: “If I had to ask Megan Thee Stallion if she would collaborate with me / Would I really have a chance of achieving something / I don't know , but I'm happy to be back.

The line appears to refer to Lanez, 31, accused of shooting Megan, 29, in the foot after leaving a party in That of Kylie Jenner home in July 2020. Following the incident, Megan underwent surgery to remove shrapnel from her left foot.

While some fans didn't take the line seriously since Eminem is known for targeting other celebrities in his songs, others thought he crossed the line by bringing up the incident.

“Imagine bringing up someone's trauma AND it's not even a bar,” one user wrote via X. Another added: “Yes, it was disgusting, especially coming from a grown man. Simply useless.

Megan herself has yet to comment on the song.

Eminem's release of “Houdini” comes nearly three months after Lanez filed an appeal after being convicted of shooting Megan in both feet.

In court documents obtained by Us every weekLanez's legal team cited “improper admission of evidence” and “prosecutor misconduct” as grounds for appeal.

Prior to his appeal, Lanez was indicted and sentenced to 10 years in prison for the incident. In August 2023, Lanez spoke before the judge David Herrifordasking for leniency and explaining how he still cares about Megan “very much to this day” and that she is his “friend”.

Although Megan was not present at the hearing, a written statement was read on her behalf explaining why she chose not to attend the hearing to protect her mental well-being.

“Not only did he shoot me, he made fun of my trauma. He tried to position himself as a victim and set out to destroy my character and my soul,” his message read. “He lied to everyone who would listen and paid bloggers to spread false information about the case on social media. »

The statement continues: “He released music videos and songs to damage my character and continue his crusade. At first, he tried to deny that the shooting ever happened. Then he tried to blame it on my former best friend. In his bout of lying, he blamed the system, blamed the press, and lately he is using his childhood trauma to protect himself and avoid guilt.”
