Emergency demolition order after fire destroys 3 buildings in Dayton – WHIO TV 7 and WHIO Radio

DAYTON — An emergency demolition took place after a fire destroyed three buildings in Dayton Monday.

As News Center 7 previously reported, Dayton firefighters were dispatched at 3:26 a.m. to the 2100 block of East Fourth Street on initial reports of a structure fire.

Several buildings were on fire when firefighters arrived, according to a Dayton Fire Department spokesperson.

Emergency services transported a firefighter to hospital with minor injuries.

The search did not take place due to the intensity of the fire.

An iWitness 7 user sent a video to his cell phone. We see a fire completely covering one of the buildings.

The three adjacent buildings were destroyed.

The city also ordered an emergency demolition, the spokesperson said.

The heat from the fire damaged several other homes.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
