El Paso Sheriff's Office: Scammers arrested trying to rob several families

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) — Dannia Gonzalez and Jonathan Ambriz were just arrested for theft of outstanding warrants after deputies said they caught the two men trying to scam El Pasoans.

Deputies arrested Gonzalez and Ambriz in the 13000 block of Sky Harbor on June 6, 2024. Officials say the two men tried to drive away from deputies on a bus.

“Dannia and Jonathan are known to be scammers in the greater El Paso area,” said a spokesperson for the sheriff’s office. “Dannia and Jonathan have been featured on social media due to their actions affecting many El Paso residents. Dannia and Jonathan were arrested while attempting to scam two other families at the Sky Harbor address. Dannia and Jonathan were recognized by the community, who then notified the Sheriff's Office. Through the cooperation of the community, these two were located and placed under arrest.
