Edmond girls who survived near-drowning thank first responders

I'm trying to understand that it's OK. WHAT YOU SEE HERE, A POWERFUL MOMENT IN EDMOND TODAY. First responders were able to meet two little girls. THEY ARE SAVED FROM DROWNING. OFFICIALS SAY GIRL SURVIVED DESPITE MINUTES UNDER WATER EARLIER THIS MONTH, OUR EVAN ONSTOT JOINS US IN STUDIO NOW. And Evan, they just got out of the hospital. You know, so many people call it miraculous. It's hard to argue with the girl's father today saying there was less than a 4% chance of survival and full recovery, and that's exactly what we see here. AND AN INCREDIBLY HAPPY ENDING TO WHAT WAS A TERRIFYING STORY. ON MAY 4, ZOE AND CALLIE, AGED ONLY SIX AND FOUR, FOUND A UNBREAKABLE SUBMARINE IN A BACKYARD POOL IN OAK TREE. EDMOND FIREFIGHTER CLAYTON WILSEY WAS THE FIRST PARAMEDIC ON THE SCENES. He says when he got there he actually thought there was only one victim, but he soon learned there were two. AND SO HE HAS TO SUPERVISE CPR ON BOTH OF THEM UNTIL MORE HELP CAN ARRIVE. AND HE SAYS IT'S AMAZING TO SEE BOTH GIRLS HEALTHY AND SHOWING NO SICK EFFECTS. NEVER AN EASY CALL, ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU HAVE YOUNG CHILDREN. I have two daughters who are around the same age, so it hit pretty hard. Um, and it was a rough few days, but seeing them again and everything with and neurologically intact, it's closure and it feels good. I'll tell you what, I don't know how these first responders do it sometimes. Wilsey says usually, you know, they treat a patient on scene, but then that patient is taken by ambulance to the hospital, and often they never hear how that patient ends up. In fact, they will usually have no idea if that person survived. And a police officer told us today that this is the first time he has seen a family come back to say thank you and let them know that the people they helped ended up getting through this, thanks to them . And he said it means a lot to all first responders. THIS IS SO OK
