Eastpointe man charged in fatal Detroit shooting

An Eastpointe man has been charged in the fatal shooting of a Detroit resident last week, officials said.

Tasean Lamarean Johnson, 19, was arraigned Thursday in Detroit's 36th District Court, the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office said.

He was charged with second-degree murder, discharging a weapon from a moving vehicle and causing death, carrying a concealed weapon, lying to a peace officer and two counts of use of a firearm during a crime.

A magistrate set Johnson's bail at $750,000 and scheduled his next court hearing for Tuesday, officials said.

If convicted, he faces life in prison for the second-degree murder charge, up to life in prison for discharging a weapon from a vehicle causing death, four years for lying to a peace officer and two years for each count of using a firearm. firearm during a crime.
