CENTER, Texas (KETK) – A 33-year-old East Texas man was sentenced to federal prison Friday after pleading guilty to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

Arrests made in the 2016 Memorial Day killing of Ron Horaney

Center's Terrence Williams was sentenced to more than 17 years in federal prison, according to a news release.

The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Texas said law enforcement was investigating a drug trafficking organization in the Shelby County area and identified Williams as the “primary source of supply.”

“Agents were able to connect Williams to more than a dozen methamphetamine dealers,” a news release said. “Williams transported large quantities of methamphetamine from the Houston area to Shelby County, where he then distributed the methamphetamine to numerous street dealers.”

Williams allegedly fled from officers in July 2022 during a traffic stop. During a high-speed chase, a backpack containing nearly nine pounds of methamphetamine was seized.

U.S. District Judge Marcia A. Crone sentenced Williams to 210 months in prison.
