East Las Vegas house fire results in pet deaths, but no human injuries

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Although six adults escaped a house fire Tuesday morning in an east Valley neighborhood, some of their pets did not.

Clark County firefighters received calls around 4:45 a.m. about a fire at a home in the 4600 block of E. Cleveland Avenue, near Sahara Avenue and Nellis Boulevard.

When firefighters arrived, the people in the home were outside, but told firefighters several dogs were inside. According to the CCFD, firefighters were able to rescue several dogs and found two dogs and a cat dead.

The fire was brought under control in less than 20 minutes and no injuries were reported. CCFD said damages are estimated at $50,000 to $100,000. The investigation is looking into the causes of the fire.

The American Red Cross is helping displaced adults.
