Dryden teen missing again

This time he leaves with a vehicle instead of a bicycle

Nathan Baughman

DRYDEN — A runaway teenager has again been reported missing, according to the Imlay City Police Department. He went missing in April last year and was found a week later.

When he disappeared in 2023, Nathan Baughman, now 17, left his Dryden area home on a bicycle. He had left a note for his parents saying he was running away.

Family members said he was diagnosed with “level 2” autism. They said a discovery was made while Nathan was researching how to cycle around the county.

Family members at the time said Nathan preferred secluded places and suffered from high levels of anxiety.

Local police worked alongside county and state law enforcement and eventually reported that Baughman was found the following week, apparently near the Michigan and Ohio state lines. Police believed he had managed to cycle most, if not all, of the distance.

On its Facebook page last week, the Imlay City Police Department reported that Baughman was missing again.

“MISSING PERSON…if you see this man or the vehicle he is driving (which belongs to a family member), please contact ICPD immediately at 810-724-2345. THANKS!”

Chief Brett Selby said there were no updates that he was aware of as of Monday afternoon.

The social media notification included a photo of the Dryden-area teen and information that this time he apparently took a vehicle that was at his family's home, instead of leaving on his bike.

Officials have not said whether or not they have received credible leads as to Baughman's whereabouts.

Nathan is reported to be 5'5″, 130 pounds and was last seen driving a white 2019 Kia.

Anyone who may have information on Baughman's whereabouts is asked to contact police.
