Drunk driver arrested: Lyndhurst police blotter

LYNDHURST, Ohio–

OVI: Mayfield Road

At 9:35 p.m. on May 27, a motorist reported that a white Toyota had struck her car and continued driving.

Police located the suspect vehicle on Ridgebury Boulevard.

The driver, a 65-year-old woman from the village of Mayfield, was intoxicated. She had a blood alcohol content of 0.176, above the state minimum for drunk driving of 0.08.

Police arrested the woman for OVI.

Suspicion: Huron Road

At 4:45 p.m. On June 2, a 42-year-old woman said she believed someone had installed a camera on a fence in her backyard. She told police she thought the camera may have been placed there by a stalker.

The woman told a police officer that she took the camera apart and removed its battery. She said he didn't take any photos.

The woman said she just wanted the incident to be recorded and for police to pay special attention to her home.

Flight: Chemin des Cèdres

At 1:10 p.m. June 2, Loss Prevention at Giant Eagle, 25105 Cedar Road in Legacy Village, reported arresting three juveniles for theft. The theft totaled $69.74.

The store did not wish to pursue the boys.

Police issued each of the boys criminal trespass warnings. The suspects are all Beachwood boys, ages 13, 11 and 10.

Domestic violence: Bromton Drive

On June 1, at 4:40 p.m., a 60-year-old woman reported that her 16-year-old daughter was hitting her and throwing objects at her. The woman went to a neighbor's house to get away from her daughter.

Police spoke with the mother and daughter and they agreed to spend the night separately. There were no charges.

Theft: Mayfield Road

At 5:30 p.m. on June 1, a representative at Produce Place, 5564 Mayfield Road, reported that an employee was seen on surveillance video stealing money. The alleged theft occurred on May 26.

The suspect, a 32-year-old woman from Mayfield Heights, did not return to work after May 26. She is suspected of stealing between $100 and $400 in cash.

The matter is under study.

Animal bite: Mayfield Road

At 11:20 a.m. on May 28, the manager of Pet Supplies Plus, 5092 Mayfield Road, reported that a pit bull accompanying a customer attacked him and bit his shorts.

The dog's owner, who was later revealed to be a 29-year-old Mayfield Heights woman, downplayed the incident and left the store in a blue Nissan. The manager was not injured as the dog only bit his shorts.

He told police the license plate number of the dog's owner's car and requested that she be issued a criminal trespass warning. The police did what they were asked.

Flight: Chemin des Cèdres

At 8:15 p.m. on May 27, an employee at Bar Louie, 24337 Cedar Road in Legacy Village, reported that a man had left without paying his bill.

Having received a description of the man's car, police stopped the vehicle at Cedar and Lyndway roads.

Bar Louie management only wanted the man to pay his bill. Police asked the man, 27, from Maryland, to return to the bar to pay his tab.
