Drug trafficking hit hard by ANF raids in city and ASF airport stopped

LAHORE, ISLAMABAD: The Counter Narcotics Force (ANF) and the Airport Security Force (ASF) have recently made significant progress in their ongoing fight against drug trafficking, it was revealed on Monday.

In a series of coordinated operations in Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore and Sheikhupura, the ANF arrested six people and seized 262 kilograms of various drugs.

During these targeted operations, various drugs were seized: 150 kg of hashish, 110.4 kg of opium and 2.2 kg of heroin.

Those arrested are currently facing charges under the Drugs Act, and further investigations are underway to dismantle the trafficking networks involved.

Meanwhile, at the Lahore International Airport, ASF personnel foiled a smuggling attempt by a foreign passenger, Shin Shin Yang, to Colombo, recovering methamphetamine or 'ice' from worth around six crore rupees cleverly concealed in milk packets.

The suspect was immediately arrested and handed over to the ANF for further legal proceedings.

These concerted efforts by the ANF and ASF underscore the continued commitment of Pakistani authorities to combat the menace of drug trafficking and its implications for national security and public health.
