Drug cartel: 2 foreign traffickers arrested, police dismantle international drug cartel | Delhi News

New Delhi: The Delhi Police Special Cell claimed to have busted an international drug cartel with the arrest of two suspected peddlers and seizure of over 5.9 kilograms of methamphetamine. The arrested suspects, identified as Marian Kone (29) from Ivory Coast and Kingsley Onyekachi (37), from Nigeria, are believed to be major players in the cartel's operations in and around Delhi, a said a senior police official. The recovered drugs, estimated to have a street value of over Rs 20 crore in the international market, were concealed in baby food boxes to evade detection, said Amit Kaushik, deputy commissioner of police (special cell). . Following a tip-off, the special cell team laid a trap near a petrol pump in Mahipalpur where they apprehended Kone with a backpack containing drugs. After his interrogation, police raided a house in west Delhi's Nilothi Extension, arrested Onyekachi and seized other drugs, the DCP said. The suspects distributed the drugs mainly in Janakpuri and Vikaspuri. During interrogation, the duo further confessed to supplying drugs to customers in Bengaluru and Mumbai through transporters traveling in long-distance buses via Ahmedabad, the DCP said. Kone and Onyekachi were residing illegally in India. While Kone entered on a business visa in April 2024 but could not produce any documents, Onyekachi had no passport or visa. Therefore, they were also booked for violating the Foreigners Act, the DCP added.
