Police from Elmhurst's 110th Precinct discovered an arsenal of weapons in a ghost car they stopped at Ditmars Boulevard and 86th Street in East Elmhurst early Wednesday morning.

NYPD Chief of Department Jeffrey Maddrey held a press conference at the 110th Precinct Wednesday afternoon to discuss what the sergeant and three officers from the 110th Precinct Public Safety Team discovered when they arrested a black Ford Explorer because it had blacked-out license plates.

“They recovered a Glock 9mm handgun and nine fully loaded magazines; they collected heavy bulletproof vests; they recovered handcuffs, NYPD uniform items, a stun gun, several knives and an extendable baton,” Maddrey said.

Officers arrested Judd Sanson, 29, who said he lived on Jamaica Avenue near 192nd Street in Jamaica Estates, but Maddrey warned that detectives were checking to see if that was his real address. Maddrey also said a New York City Transit vest was recovered along with a Guy Fawkes mask favored by anarchists, a blowtorch and a weighted whip.

A disturbing note written in a foreign language indicating he was going to do something bad was also found, but Maddrey said he was not at liberty to discuss its contents.

Sanson was booked into the 110th Precinct, where he was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and ammunition and issued a violation for obstructed license plates.

Maddrey noted that Sanson's arrest took place just a block from where a Venezuelan migrant fatally shot two police officers from the 115th Precinct in Jackson Heights on Monday, June 3.

“Arrests of this magnitude, the amount of NYPD ammunition and paraphernalia in the car was significant,” Maddrey said, adding that the investigation was still ongoing and the New York Joint Terrorism Task Force and other law enforcement agencies had been informed of the content. of the letter found in the vehicle.
