Downtown Lincoln hookah bar's liquor license suspended after deadly shooting

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A downtown Lincoln hookah bar is temporarily losing its liquor license after a deadly shooting earlier this year.

The Nebraska Liquor Control Commission voted Tuesday to suspend Royal Hookah Bar & Lounge's liquor license for 60 days.

The business near 16th and W streets was also ordered to close at 1 a.m. and is now prohibited from hosting events outside of normal hours.

The liquor commission said another hearing would be scheduled if a violation occurs.

On April 7, Gregory Little Jr., 32, was shot and killed by a security guard outside the bar, Lincoln police said.

Lancaster County Prosecutor Pat Condon announced last week that no charges would be filed in the shooting.

In a press release, Condon said the security guard's actions “were justified given the totality of the circumstances.”
