Don't worry, all those missing MultiVersus features won't be missing for too long.

All of you MultiVersus players have probably noticed that some features are missing, but Player First Games plans to bring them back.

Last week, after a year-long hiatus, MultiVersus finally had its full launch and received mixed responses. Our own Dom feels divided on this point, even though he appreciates the core gameplay, and many other players haven't exactly been thrilled with some of the choices that have been made. Notably, the strange decision to omit certain features present in the game, such as match statistics, team colors and several other features as well. The decision to temporarily shut down MultiVersus for a year was already a controversial decision, so coming back with fewer features, especially important for platform fighters like these, obviously seems like an odd decision.

Player First Games is very aware of these comments, however, as the game's director, Tony Huynh, recently took to Twitter to acknowledge the lack of these features and what plans are for the game in the future. “Thanks for your feedback! The team is working hard on it. Some of the settings and features missing from the open beta are coming: team colors, endgame stats, switching sides and neutral attacks, buffer settings adjustable input, etc.,” Huynh wrote. “More information soon!”

“Many of these features are currently implemented and are being tested and we had planned for this, but were left behind due to time as we had to rebuild every screen and feature again to support our new netcode and the Unreal Engine 5 switch. Thanks again! I hope some of this context is helpful.

The rebuild in Unreal Engine 5 was essentially the main reason Player First Games took an extra year to work on the game and implement feedback from the beta. So it's understandable that not everything is ready, although, again, this may seem like a strange choice to some. .

The MultiVersus revival also brought in a few new characters, like the Joker, Jason Vorhees, Agent Smith from The Matrix, and Banana Guards from Adventure Time, which is an odd mix of faces to say the least.
