Dogwood Estates near Arp without power or water since Tuesday

ARP, Texas (KETK) – Dogwood Estates off CR 246 north of Arp has been without power and water since Tuesday, a community resident said.

On Friday, power was restored to the water tower that serves the area, but not to their homes. Residents are subject to a boil water advisory until drinking water samples come back clean from the state.

Smith County Emergency Services District 2 and Arp Volunteer Fire Department Station 2 are offering cases of bottled water to residents.

Nikki Simmons, ESD2 community outreach coordinator, said area residents can pick up as many as they need.

“We will have firefighters here throughout the evening and Saturday as well and if anyone needs additional assistance they can always call Smith County District 2 Emergency Services, we will take care of it,” Simmons said. .

Pallets of water bottles will be available to residents at the Arp 2 volunteer fire station from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday.
