Does anyone care that these girls are missing? It doesn't seem like that's the case

The Signal Tribune contacted NCMEC, the Department of Justice, the Los Angeles Police Department and the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Office, with no response.

At least three teenagers are missing not only from their homes, but also from the state's missing persons database.

Da'kera Jones, Mykala Lindsey and Tessa Linh Mam have been missing for months and are all believed to have traveled separately from other cities in Los Angeles County to the Long Beach area.

All statewide missing persons cases must be reported to the state's missing persons system and listed in the Department of Justice's online public database. As of June 6, none of these three girls were listed.

THE Signals Tribune contacted the Justice Department on June 5 to ask how and why this happened, and did not receive a response at the time of publication.

THE Signals Tribune was alerted to the missing persons cases of Jones and Lindsey by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). THE Signals Tribune contacted NCMEC on May 29 and June 5 to ask why they are missing from the state database and did not receive a response at the time of publication.

Mam's missing persons case was shared by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Cerritos Station on Facebook on March 14. Signals Tribune contacted the Cerritos Sheriff's Station on March 20 and June 5 and left messages for Detective Ryan Clinkingbeard, who is listed as a contact on the missing person flyer posted by the station, and did not hear back.

In a phone call with the LAPD media office, a spokesperson said they found no information on Jones or Lindsey after learning their names and when they were last seen times. The spokesperson said they had to research these cases before responding to the Signals Tribune.

THE Signals Tribune contacted the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, NCMEC and the California Department of Justice for information. Thursday, no one Signals Tribune contacted was even able to say if the girls are still missing.
