The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) is seeking the public's help in identifying and locating a suspect in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred May 29 in the Hanover Place unit block in Northwest.

According to MPD documents, officers responded to the scene for a report of a shooting, where they located a man in the road suffering from a gunshot wound. He died at the scene.

The victim was previously identified as 34-year-old Maurice Downing.

The suspect was captured on surveillance footage.
