The last time the teen left his grandmother's house was more than two weeks ago, NBC affiliate WTHR reported.

Cheryl Wright came to pick up her grandson after her daughter allegedly asked her to do so and noticed severe bruising on his face.

“He just said his dad did it, but he wasn't mad, but he wasn't mad at his dad. He told me he deserved it and it was OK,” Wright told WTHR.

“So I told him that wasn't the case and that no one should beat their children like that, not if they love them.”

Wright took Bryson home to Cleveland and he was picked up by his mother, father and an unknown adult male a few days later.

However, before Bryson's parents could come pick him up, Wright called the police.

Minutes after Bryson was picked up from Wright's Ohio home, police stopped the van he was picked up in.

But when the car was stopped, Bryson was nowhere to be found.

Disappearance of Bryson Muir

Indiana State Police issued a Silver Alert for Bryson Muir on June 16.

  • 14 years old
  • 6 feet 2 inches
  • 185 pounds
  • Black hair with brown eyes
  • Last seen wearing an orange Under Armor shirt and blue jeans
  • Missing from Logansport, Indiana

If you have any information on Bryson Muir, contact the Indiana State Police in Peru at 765-513-9907 or 911.

When asked what she thought happened to Bryson, Wright said, “The only thing the police told me was that they probably put him in another vehicle and that car left. »

Indiana State Police issued a Silver Alert for the 6'2, 14-year-old boy, saying, “He is believed to be in extreme danger and may require medical assistance.”

There have been no updates on Bryson's whereabouts since the Silver Alert was issued, but his parents are no longer cooperating with the investigation, authorities said.

Bryson's parents, Daniel and Kristin Muir, had agreed to bring their son to meet with investigators at noon Friday.

An hour before the agreed-upon meeting, the Muirs withdrew from the deal.

Indiana State Police said the Muirs' failure to meet the agreed upon meeting time “indicated an unwillingness to cooperate” with police.

Police were unable to contact Bryson's parents for weeks before the arranged meeting, and now online speculation suggests a cult may be involved in Bryson Muir's disappearance.

Police said the property where the Muir family lives, as well as the car used to pick Bryson up from his grandmother's house, belong to the Servant Leader's Foundation, Fox affiliate WXIN reported.

The Servant Leader's Foundation is a religious nonprofit organization that promotes the needs of others before your own.

“[Our] “The foundation’s mission is to inspire and equip leaders around the world to find meaning and purpose in their work, foster an environment of trust and respect at all levels of an organization, and achieve success through the implementation of servant leadership,” the foundation’s website states.

The foundation is located on a 5.63-acre plot of land listed in Cass County in Davenport, Indiana, IndyStar reported.

Daniel Muir purchased the land in 2020 but sold it to the foundation in 2023, land records show.

Upon entering the property, residents are greeted by a sign reading “Welcome to Straitway Indiana-Goshen.”

The Straitway Indiana-Goshen YouTube channel links to the Straitway Truth Ministry.

The website describes the group as “a nation of Hebrew Israelites (translated in the KJV as Jews) who are commandment keepers, obedient to Yah (God) and our savior, Jesus the Christ.” »

“We are blessed with a dynamic deliverance ministry and life changing truth from a true Jeremiah 3:15 pastor. We praise and thank Yah for all things,” the description continues.

“As far as what you can expect from us, expect to hear things that will upset you. Expect to find things in your Bible that you have never seen before. You will be challenged. »

Straitway's Ministry of Truth has gained significant attention over the past two years, as several former NFL players such as former Colts player Robert Mathias and former Packers player Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila have joined the Ministry.

People have had great concerns about this “cult-like” ministry.

According to an in-depth article by Sports Illustrated, former followers reported “an existence governed by inflexible adherence to the Old Testament, under the watch of a controlling leader who limits members' interactions with the outside world.”

Women and children said the ministry mistreated them, and former members said they lacked adequate health care.

Additionally, the ministry allegedly mistreated members of the gay community and aggressively forced teenage boys to join the community.

No official connection has been made between Bryson's disappearance, Straitway Church and the Servant Leader's Foundation.

Bryson Muir is still missing. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call Indiana State Police at 1-800-382-0689 or call 911.
