Disturbing details revealed about serial stabbing suspect Jared Ravizza

A Martha's Vineyard resident accused of a series of stabbings on the South Shore of Massachusetts over Memorial Day weekend is also a suspect in a Connecticut homicide investigation.

Jared Ravizza, 26, appeared in a Plymouth courtroom Tuesday to be arraigned on charges of assault with intent to kill at least six people, including four girls in a movie theater, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and outrage of modesty.

Ravizza, originally from Chilmark on Martha's Vineyard, was arrested Saturday evening after a wild police chase.

Ravizza allegedly entered the AMC Braintree 10 movie theater around 6 p.m. Saturday and entered one of the theaters without paying, according to the Braintree Police Department press release.

The young girls, aged 9 to 17, were watching the film “If” when an individual suddenly attacked them “without saying anything and without any warning” before fleeing.

Ravizza reportedly laughed during the attack.

They were all transported to a Boston hospital for treatment after suffering non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Braintree Police patrol officers and detectives were able to “quickly review video footage and trace the suspect’s movements.”

Footage showed Ravizza allegedly leaving the AMC in a black SUV. The video also shows a license plate number.

Another stab at McDonald's

Shortly after the Braintree Police Department made a broadcast to law enforcement, a car matching Ravizza's was allegedly involved in a similar assault in Plymouth, nearly 30 miles south of the theater.

Around 7 p.m., Ravizza allegedly approached the drive-thru window of a McDonald's located off Route 3 in Plymouth, according to the Plymouth Police Department.

“After an argument over payment, the man attacked two employees with a knife,” the police statement said.

The Plymouth County District Attorney's Office said surveillance video from the McDonald's restaurant appears to show Ravizza reaching through the drive-thru and stabbing the victims. She then leaves the drive-thru, parks her car, enters the restaurant and stabs the victim. Ravizza then fled the rest area in his car.

Plymouth EMS transported a 28-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

Both McDonald's employees were in stable condition Tuesday, prosecutors said.

Massachusetts State Police then located Ravizza's vehicle and a pursuit ensued. Ravizza ultimately crashed the car in the town of Sandwich, police said.

Ravizza was transported to South Shore Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the Plymouth County District Attorney's Office.

Connection to Connecticut murder

Shortly afterward, Connecticut State Police said they were also investigating Ravizza in connection with the death of West Hartford man Bruce Feldman.

Feldman's body was found at 3:36 p.m. Saturday at a home in Deep River, Connecticut.

State police were responding to a report of a disturbance on Merriwold Lane in Deep River, according to the state police news release.

“As the suspect approached the Merriwold Lane residence, (the suspect) threw a shovel through the front door glass and then left,” the report states.

Troopers learned of another disturbance before the shovel incident, which led them to 15 Maritone Lane, where Feldman was found outside with visible injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner said Feldman died from stab wounds to the torso and head.

Connecticut State Police said criminal charges are pending in Connecticut.

Previous charges

Ravizza was previously arrested in April in Martha's Vineyard and charged with battery on a member of his family or household, as well as vandalism after allegedly attacking his father, as reported by the Boston Globe.

Ravizza's father told police that Ravizza “had just had a mental breakdown and attacked him.”

Ravizza was apparently sent to Martha's Vineyard Hospital for a mental health evaluation, but “did not meet their standards to be detained there.”

According to the description on Instagram, jareeejones, Ravizza identifies as “she” and an “artist.”
