MASHPEE, MASSACHUSETTS – Aliyah Konton has been found and is safe [in the Town of Barnstable]according to Mashpee officials. [DEVELOPING]

Additionally, according to a media statement from the Mashpee Police Department, an investigation is underway into the assault of 15-year-old Aliyah on school grounds.

“May 25, 2024” the statement says, “The Mashpee Police Department has initiated a criminal investigation into allegations of assault and battery at Mashpee High School between two students. As a result of this investigation, seven counts of assault and battery (MGL, Chapter 265, Section 13A) were filed with the Juvenile Division of the Falmouth District Court against a young woman from thirteen year old involved in this incident.

The investigation into potential accomplices is still ongoing and, again, it would be inappropriate for me to comment on this part of the investigation until this aspect of the investigation is completed. according to the statement sent by Chief Scott Carline of the Mashpee Police Department.

The young victim, who had just been reported “found safe and sound” at the time of writing this report, was reported missing on June 2, 2024. She had been the subject of an investigation. “intense research” using multiple local, state and federal resources.

HN is aware of another recent bullying incident at Mashpee High School, in which female students allegedly threatened another student. Some question whether Mashpee Public Schools is doing enough to make victims of bullying feel safe in their schools.
