Dick Van Dyke reveals the 'secret weapon' behind his good health

Dick Van Dyke's workout routine is his “secret weapon.”

The Hollywood legend does three gym sessions a week at the age of 98 and he believes it's the key to his good health.

He told 'Entertainment Tonight': “I recommend it to everyone. It's my secret weapon.”

The award-winning star believes that actors are in a privileged position.

Dick admitted he had “a really good time” during his decades-long career in the movie business.

The 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang' actor – who received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2012 – shared: “It's not work, it's play. Actors are so lucky. I had such a good time.”

Despite this, Dick suggested he was the last of his kind in Hollywood.

The veteran star said: “I think I'm really the last of my generation. I'm 98 years old. I have almost all my marbles. I don't remember what I ate for breakfast. “

Despite his success, Dick struggled with alcohol addiction for 25 years of his life.

The actor previously admitted his addiction damaged his family life.

Dick – who was married to Margie Willett between 1948 and 1984 – told the Guardian newspaper: “I tried to be a good role model for my children, but I was an alcoholic for 25 years which inevitably got an impact on family life.

“When I started therapy, I realized I was repeating my father's mistakes. He would often come home drunk from long car trips and my mother would threaten to leave if he didn't stop – which he did. did.

“When I promised to stop and checked into a rehab clinic, Margie showed up just as I was leaving. I thought she would come get me, but it turned out she was addicted to antidepressants. I had no idea.
