Details released in fatal Green Bay stabbing, two Marinette-area men charged

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Details have been released about the fatal stabbing on Green Bay's east side that left one man dead, and charges have been filed against two Marinette-area men.

According to a criminal complaint obtained by Local 5, Aaron Walton, 32, and Joseph Poore, 39, were charged with homicide for their alleged roles in a fatal stabbing in Green Bay. The stabbing occurred on June 3.


Court records show Walton is from Menominee, Michigan, and Poore is from Marinette, Wisconsin.

Walton and Poore both had their Cash bail set at $1,000,000. The stabbing victim has been identified as Robert Marshall of Green Bay.

Authorities were dispatched to Roosevelt Street for a report of a man passed out. When an officer arrived on scene, stab wounds were observed and there was “significant” bleeding. Images from a nearby residence helped identify a suspect vehicle.

The vehicle was later found in Marinette County and there were three people inside. Walton and Poore, along with someone else, were inside the vehicle.

The complaint states a knife was later found in the area of ​​the Mason Street Bridge after an interview with the suspect revealed the knife may have been thrown from the vehicle.

“I was able to take some time from where he passed away and try to give him some positive energy,” said Paki Brown, CEO and founder of PPP Ecosystem where Marshall worked. “Rob always wanted people to laugh, he wanted to be really friendly, he was the person who could speak to any culture.”

In an interview with authorities, Walton claimed Poore threw the knife out the window. He also said Poore later admitted to stabbing the victim.

The complaint also mentions that Poore, Walton and the victim were involved in drugs. At one point, the victim allegedly weighed drugs before the incident. Walton said drugs were thrown out the window somewhere in Oconto.

Walton also told investigators they had no money. It was also mentioned in the complaint that Poore wanted to rob the victim.
