Destroyed Superbike Gets New Life, Transforms Into Sand Weapon

Stuntman Aaron Colton has lost his mind.

Each motorcycle has its own specific function.

Adventure bikes are designed for off-roading or long-distance travel. Naked and cruiser bikes are for city cruising and stunts. Superbikes are designed to fly around the racetrack. And models like Groms or Vespas are designed to look cool and dripping. Like I said, each has its own area of expertise.

But what if you were stuntman Aaron Colton and you didn't care about convention? What if you wanted to take something, say a Yamaha R1 Superbike, and go somewhere it wasn't supposed to go? What would that look like?

Would it work? Well, we're about to find out, as the Red Bull stuntman is going to take said Yamaha R1 and turn it into a sand dune weapon. Do you think he'll let us ride it once he's done?

According to Colton, “An exciting day at Garage 93 as for the first time we have a superbike coming through the doors. The R1 is being retired next year and I wanted to find a 2015 or newer R1 to turn into a drift bike project. But believe it or not, it will actually start life as a sand dune bike project.”

Because obviously, right? Who wouldn't want a superbike to ride down sand dunes?

Colton goes on to say, “We’re going to take this to the Silverlake Sand Dunes with a 16 Power rear tire and 200 horsepower to see what this thing has. I know it’s going to be an absolute riot in [those] “He then goes on to state that he's going to have to strip the bike down to its bare frame and change, modify or replace almost everything to make it work, but that he's going to build it into a “10/10 superbike”, in typical Garage 93 fashion.

The video then shows Colton starting the bike, giving it a few spins, and teasing the audience about what's to come. And from the video, the bike looks healthier than the stock one, so it'll definitely be something to watch tearing up the sand.

We've seen a few builds of this type, that is, taking something that isn't meant for any terrain, like the Honda Gold Wing in Moab, the Harley snowmobile, and others. But an R1 sand dune crusher? LOL, sign us up.
