Destiny 2 vendor Xur now sells red-rimmed weapons, but there's a problem

Following his rework in The Final Shape, Xur now sells red-rimmed weapons in Destiny 2, but there is a limit to the craftable weapons that can be acquired.

Xur received a major overhaul in The Final Shape, and now the weekend vendor is selling more than just a few exotics. Xur's full stock includes exotic catalysts, resources used to craft and upgrade equipment, and various engrams.

One of them is the strange Weapon Engram, which drops a random weapon from Xur's loot table. These rolls can potentially be Red Frontier weapons, but only for Season of Plunder weapons. Purchasing a Strange Weapon Engram only costs 7 Strange Coins, so it is viable to farm them.

You can also receive red-rimmed weapons using Strange Engrams, acquired by increasing Xur's Vendor Rank. This is an efficient way to receive additional Red Border weapons without having to spend Strange Coins, with a Warden receiving a Sailspy Pitchglass using this method.

Looting Season began in August 2022 and ran through December 2022. Adding these six craftable seasonal weapons to the sandbox:

Vendetta (SMG Stasis)
Brigand's Law (Sidearm Arc)
No Reprieve (Stasis Shotgun)
Planck's stride (arc machine gun)
Sailspy Pitchglass (Linear Arc Fusion Rifle)
Tarnished Courage (Arc Scout Rifle)

While neither of these weapons are PvE meta weapons these days, the Brigand's Law stands out as the only arced sidearm capable of casting an upgraded Voltshot, which extends the duration of the perk by two seconds. Likewise, Tarnished Mettle casts both Demolitionist and Voltshot, making it a solid option in content where Scout Rifles excel.

Those who hunt the Red Borders for these weapons must not rely solely on Xur. There is also the option to use Deepsight Harmonizers, a rare resource that converts compatible weapons into Red Borders. In Episode 1: Echoes, eight can be acquired via the Season Pass between Rank 70 and Rank 185.
