Destiny 2 Trials of Osiris: map and weapon featured this week

Destiny 2's flagship PVP activity, Trials of Osiris, returns once again. If you want to know what map and weapons are featured this week, we have all that and more in this preview of the looter shooter's most competitive game mode.

The Final Shape brings Trials back for a new expansion, giving Guardians more opportunities to compete for glory. There are also two new weapons to earn: Aisha's Care (Strand Pulse Rifle) and Shayura's Wrath (Void SMG) – which you can farm throughout the first episode: Echoes.

While Playlist has always faced issues like cheaters, account recovery services, and technical issues within the broader Destiny 2 experience, Bungie has rolled out updates in recent seasons to improve things.

Here's a quick overview of what you can expect from Trials of Osiris:

  • Trials will only be available to players who own The Final Shape.
  • You can continue playing once you have accumulated three defeats and still earn equipment.
  • BattlEye anti-cheat is in effect on PC to detect cheaters.
  • Trials of Osiris now features matchmaking, so solo players dominate as well.

While you're here, why not also check out Xur's location?

Trials of Osiris card this week (June 14 – 18)

Trials of Osiris features a new map every week to keep the experience fresh and allow players of varying skills to shine. Some maps favor CQB while others are more suited to scout rifles and snipers. You need to stay aware of the map presented to know exactly what loadout to use.

This week's featured card is Banner drop, launching The Final Shape's first Trials of Osiris. The classic Crucible map was first added in The Taken King, then ported to Destiny 2, and it's still a fan favorite to this day.

Trials of Osiris rewards and weapons this week (June 14 – 18)

Rather than the 3, 5, 7, and Flawless win thresholds previously required for rewards, players no longer earn specific weapons. Instead, you'll earn Trial Engrams by improving your reputation with Saint-14 in the Tower Hangar.

Once a Trials of Osiris reward has been unlocked, you can focus it for the cost of a Trials Engram – meaning farming rolls have never been easier. Additionally, you can get better equipment with higher stat rolls by becoming Flawless.

This weekend's rewards for Trials of Osiris are as follows:

  • Rank 4 – Upgrade Module (x3)
  • Rank 7 – Enhancement Prism (x3)
  • Rank 10 – Aisha's Healing (Strand Pulse Rifle)
  • Rank 13 – Ascendant Alloy (x1)
  • Rank 16 – Shayura's Wrath (Void SMG)
  • Featured Weapon – The Summoner (Solar Auto Rifle)

Destiny 2 Trials of Osiris explains all the passages

With the redesign of the playlist in Season of the Lost, Trials of Osiris has undergone some changes in its passages. These items give you access to the Trials playlist every weekend, and there are a few important changes to note in the new system:

  • Passes no longer track losses
    • Each pass is perfect or not, allowing you to continue playing and earning rewards regardless of how many losses you suffer.
    • Players can still reset their Passage after a defeat, but are no longer required to do so after suffering three defeats on their map.
  • Passages now track up to 20 rounds won
  • All Passages have had their prices significantly reduced
  • Passages are now account-wide, meaning you can play and earn rewards on any of your characters using the same Passage.

These changes and what they mean for you when preparing the playlist can be quite confusing. Here's a look at each Passage, what they do, and which one is best for you:

  • Passage of Mercy: Will now forgive two losses if you weren't perfect during the week. Once you're perfect, it will only offer one.
    • If your goal is to reach the lighthouse, this passage is for you. You will get a free loss without the need to reset your card and start from scratch
  • Passage of ferocity: This Passage grants you a bonus win after reaching three wins on your card
    • Usually the next choice behind Mercy for Flawless runs, this will let you skip an entire match on your way to the Lighthouse – but you won't have the loss forgiveness that comes with Mercy.
  • Passage of wealth: Will reward an additional Trial Rank with each victory, the amount rewarded increases as your Major Rank increases.
    • If you are more focused on the rewards of Farming Trials and don't want to become perfect, this card is for you. With the new Trials reputation system, Passage of Wealth will increase your rank with Saint-14 faster than any other card.
  • Passage of trust: This Passage grants a bonus reward from the Perfect chest, but you can only acquire this card after you have already been Perfect that week.
    • If you're confident in your skills and have a strong squad to play with, the Confidence Passage can help you rack up more rewards at the Lighthouse, but it's arguably the hardest Passage to play.
  • Passing persistence: This Passage reduces the impact of losses by rewarding the Weekly Adept weapon at seven wins, regardless of the number of games required.
    • While Passage of Wealth offers better rewards overall, it's a great option for casual players who want to get an Adept weapon but lack the consistency to be flawless.

Choosing the right passage for you (and your teammates, if you plan to enter the Trials with a pre-made squad) will go a long way in ensuring you get the most out of your time in the playlist each weekend.

Destiny 2 Trials of Osiris Weekly Reset Time

The Trials of Osiris next upload Friday (June 21) at daily reset (10:00 a.m. PDT / 1:00 p.m. EDT / 17:00 GMT / 7:00 p.m. (Paris time)) and go run until the following Tuesday (June 25).

Before you head out to compete, you'll need to stop by the Tower Hangar and speak to Saint-14, the Destiny 2 vendor who oversees the Trials. He will be your main source of bonuses and rewards throughout the week, as well as the person who provides you with each of your trial passages.

That's all you need to know about the Trials of Osiris map and this week's rewards. Be sure to jump into the playlist with a few of your friends before next week's reset puts the game mode into its usual pause.
