Police said a man suffered injuries to his neck and torso, but was alert when first responders arrived. The man's condition has not been released by authorities. DES MOINES, Iowa —

Des Moines police are investigating after a person was stabbed on the subway Saturday night.

The assault happened shortly before 10 p.m. Saturday in the 600 block of Sixth Avenue downtown. Police said a man suffered injuries to his neck and torso, but was alert when first responders arrived.

The man's condition has not been released by authorities. The incident remains under investigation and police say there is no ongoing threat to the community.
