Denver Weather: Fire Weather Warnings and Heat Advisories for a Warm Father's Day

DENVER (KDVR) — Warm conditions are forecast in the Denver weather forecast for the rest of the weekend and the start of the work week.

A heat advisory will be in effect Sunday from noon to 7 p.m., as temperatures climb into the 90s and near triple digits by afternoon in the metro and above 100 degrees in some places to the South.

To stay safe in extreme heat, it is recommended to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check on your loved ones and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside by wearing light, loose-fitting clothing and try to limit strenuous activities early in the morning or evening.

A Fire Weather Warning is in effect Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. due to low relative humidity and strong wind gusts. Humidity will drop to 10% and southerly wind gusts will reach up to 30 mph.

Weather this evening: mostly clear

Saturday evening will be mostly clear and warm. Temperatures will remain above average, only falling to 60 degrees.

Weather tomorrow: Sunny, warm

Father's Day will be warm and sunny. High temperatures will climb into the mid-90s, 10 degrees above normal and just 5 degrees below the daily record, which is 100 degrees set in 2021.

Looking ahead: hot start to the work week before the risk of thunderstorms

Sunnier and warmer weather is forecast for Monday. Then, a cold front will move through the area, dropping temperatures to just 80 degrees on Tuesday.

A more active weather pattern sets in from Wednesday, which will bring showers and thunderstorms daily. Wednesday will be the coolest day of the week, with high temperatures in the upper 70s, before another warming trend that brings high temperatures back to near 90 degrees by the end of the work week and the start of next weekend.
