Deerfield Beach shooting leaves woman and infant dead and man hospitalized – NBC 6 South Florida

Authorities are investigating after a woman and baby were found shot to death in a Deerfield Beach home and a man found shot to death in the street outside the home had to be hospitalized Thursday morning.

The shooting happened in the 4000 block of Eastridge Drive around 5:45 a.m., according to the Broward County Sheriff's Office.

First responders at the scene found a man in the street with a gunshot wound and took him to hospital for treatment. He was in critical condition Thursday evening, authorities said.

During their investigation, officers found two people shot to death in a nearby home, officials said. Authorities later confirmed they were a woman and a baby boy.

Authorities have not released the identities of those involved in the incident. Neighbors said a family had moved into the house just a week earlier.

Nearby residents reported hearing screams early Thursday morning.

A woman shared a video from her front door showing blood on the sidewalk. She said someone knocked on the door asking for help.

“Is it random? Is it a family problem? The fact that it's a small child is even scarier because who would do that to a woman, let alone a child,” the neighbor said Kristen Mays.

An emotional man and woman arrived at the scene as authorities investigated. The woman could be seen crying in the arms of a sheriff's deputy.

Authorities said there does not appear to be any threat to the community.
