Dawn Neesom FUMES over 'unanswered questions' after abrupt end to hunt for teen

The family of missing teenager Jay Slater have not been informed that the search has been called off, GB News presenter Dawn Neesom has claimed.

Tenerife police yesterday called off their search after the teenager went missing two weeks ago.

Slater disappeared after attending a music festival on the Spanish island.

After the musical event, the teenager went to an Airbnb in Masca with people he met on Sunday, June 16.

The apprentice bricklayer spoke to his friend Lucy Law at 8am local time last Monday to tell her he had missed his bus, his phone had only one per cent battery and he would walk home.

Despite a thorough police search of the area, the teenager has not been found.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS

Speaking on GB News today, Dawn Neesom said: “It’s obviously a very, very strange story.

She added: “All of a sudden yesterday they announced that they were ending all of that. The thing is here, you have family liaison officers. So the family would be kept informed at all times.

“The Daily Mail reporter and Guy Adams, who covers this story very well, went to Jay's mother and asked her, 'Did you know that's called research?'

“But, you know, Jay's mother hadn't even been informed that the search had been called off.

“Seriously. There are so many unanswered questions about this.

“We are all aware of the conspiracy theories circulating online which don't really help on social media, but there are so many unanswered questions, like: why was he in this part of Tenerife in the first place? »

She explained: “The horrible thing is we may never know what happened to Jay. And for his family it must be horrible.”

The British family source told The Sun: “Jay's family can't help but feel like the trolls have won and they've succeeded. So many people have been spreading horrible messages which have only added to the family's torment.

“They won't stop looking for Jay or give up. They will stay in Tenerife and try to do everything they can to keep the momentum going and find Jay.

“They have tried to get in touch with groups in Tenerife and beyond that specialise in missing people.

“Jay's family knew the search would eventually end. They understood that. But it was a nightmare scenario they didn't want to think about.”
