The Danville Police Department has released the names of the victims in the two June 9 shootings.

The victim in the Dillehay Street shooting has been identified as 37-year-old Justin Grey. The man who was shot in the 300 block of North Fifth Street was identified as Maurice Stitt, 43, who died of his injuries.

The investigation is still ongoing, with Danville police unable to provide updates on potential motives, suspects or whether the shootings were related.

“We’re not ruling anything out at this point,” Danville Deputy Police Chief Glenn Doan said.

The two shootings occurred within an hour of each other in the early morning of June 9. At 2:51 a.m., Danville police responded to a call at a private club at 750 Dillehay Street called The Den. The police found the weapon that had been fired at the scene. No victims were located at the scene, but minutes later, emergency units responded to a residence on Mason Avenue where Gray was suffering from a single gunshot wound to the abdomen. He was transported to Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center and has since been released.

At 3:47 a.m., police responded to a call of shots fired in the 300 block of North Fifth Street. Upon arrival, officers located Stitt inside a pickup truck which crashed into the driveway of a residence. Stitt suffered from multiple gunshot wounds. Police determined Stitt was traveling on North Fifth Street, where an unknown number of shooters fired at him from the west side of the street. Police believe Stitt tried to flee in reverse before crashing the truck. Stitt was transported to Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, but was later pronounced dead.
