Danville man sentenced to prison for sexual assault

DANVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — A Danville man was sentenced to four years in prison after being convicted of sexually assaulting a co-worker.

Prosecutors said Kasey Hollis, 30, pleaded guilty Wednesday to a Class 4 felony of criminal sexual abuse. Evidence presented to the court showed that in May 2023, Hollis forcibly touched the sexual organ of a female colleague.


“After being sexually assaulted, both verbally and physically by a man 11 years my senior, I now live with the constant fear of being around and trusting men,” she said in a statement. the victim. “Today I want you to know that I will never let you or the horrible things you did to me cross my mind ever again.”

State's Attorney Jacqueline Lacy thanked the victim for her courage in coming forward and for giving her statement.

“I hope that through his powerful statement, the victim in this case can begin to heal,” Lacy said.

Hollis has two prior convictions in Champaign County for aggravated battery in connection with inappropriate touching. In 2018, Hollis was convicted of slapping a University of Illinois student on the buttocks, for which he was sentenced to probation. Four years later, he was convicted of trying to pull down another student's pants, for which he was sentenced to parole.
