Daniel Jones: I think Malik Nabers can be a formidable weapon

The Giants used the sixth overall pick on LSU receiver Malik Nabers. More than the Giants, Nabers was the draft's top prospect at his position, ahead of Marvin Harrison Jr., the Cardinals' fourth overall pick.

Nabers has been a social media star this offseason with videos of his highlight catches.

Giants fans haven't been this excited about a receiver since the team drafted Odell Beckham Jr. 12th overall in 2014.

No one, however, is more excited about Nabers' presence than quarterback Daniel Jones.

“I think it may be a formidable weapon for us,” Jones said, via Steve Serby of New York Post. “He can do anything. There's not much he can't do from a running standpoint. He is dynamic. . . and strong, fast, explosive, catches the ball well. Yes, he is doing very well.

The Giants lost Saquon Barkley in free agency, so their offense will now run through Nabers. He's the best (first?) WR1 Jones has ever had.

The Giants' last 1,000-yard receiver was Beckham in 2018.

“I feel like there’s no pressure,” Nabers said. “I mean, I've played football my whole life. I'm just trying to keep up with the guys here, take the competition out of myself that these older guys want to see. I'm just trying to be myself, improve my game every day I'm here.
