DA: Man associated with white supremacist group convicted in Fresno County murder | YourCentralValley.com

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The man accused of murdering a 56-year-old Fresno County man was sentenced Monday, the Fresno County Prosecutor's Office announced.

The prosecutor's office said Brandon Engelman of Coarsegold, accused of killing Pacer Hampton of Fresno, was sentenced Monday. Earlier this year, Engelman pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter with a firearm.

On April 13, 2021, the Fresno County Sheriff's Office said it received a report around 2:15 p.m. from a department worker who called to say a man was inside a car that had crashed into a fence and it appeared someone was sleeping inside. . However, officers discovered that the victim, identified as Pacer Hampton, 56, of Fresno, had died.

Sheriff's officials said they determined his injuries were not consistent with a car accident.

On May 14, 2021, deputies announced that the suspect, then 40-year-old Brandon Engelman, had been arrested earlier that week on suspicion of homicide and was also facing a charge of kidnapping without connection with Hampton's death.

Sheriff's officials say Engelman was part of a white supremacist gang. In 2021, investigators emphasized that the investigation was ongoing and would say other people were involved in this crime, but deputies were convinced Engelman was the shooter.

On Monday, the prosecutor's office announced that Engelman had been sentenced to 10 years in prison.
