CT man accused of stabbing Andover pizzeria

A Portland man was arrested on charges of assault and threatening following a stabbing at a pizzeria in Andover on Wednesday that left two people injured.

Samuel Bitcon, 36, faces charges of second-degree assault, second-degree menacing and second-degree breach of peace, according to Connecticut State Police.

Officers responded to Andover Pizza at 130 Jonathan Trumbull Highway just after 10:30 p.m. on a report of an active disturbance involving a man armed with a knife. When they arrived on scene, they allegedly saw a man, later identified as Bitcon, leaving the restaurant with a bloody knife in his hand, state police said.

The troopers drew their weapons and ordered Bitcon to drop the blade, which he did, according to state police. He was arrested while police investigated.

According to State Police, officers found a man in the restroom of the restaurant suffering from a stab wound to the abdomen. He was transported to Saint-Francis Hospital for treatment.

A second victim was found in the restaurant with minor head injuries, which state police said was suffered during an altercation with Bitcon.

Bitcon was taken into custody and held on $100,000 bail. He was scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in Rockville Superior Court.
