CSFD extinguishes fire near Gold Camp Road

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) has extinguished the fire near Gold Camp and Sunrise Lane.

The CSFD drone will perform a final scan using its thermal imaging capabilities to ensure all hot spots are eliminated before firefighters leave the area.

The Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) responded to the lighting fire in the area of ​​Gold Camp Road.

Firefighters are working to put out the fire using hand tools. According to CSFD, the fire is moving slowly and is 1/10 of an acre.

The Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) is responding to a fire believed to have been started by lightning in the area of ​​Gold Camp Road, south of Bear Creek Park.

CSFD job about the fire shortly after 6:30 p.m. and said neighbors in the area of ​​Gold Camp Road and Sunrise Lane reported seeing a flash followed by flames and smoke. CSFD launched a drone to monitor the area and was able to locate the smoke.

CSFD said the drone crew sent coordinates to firefighters and they were working to get to the scene.
