Crushed woman: body of woman crushed in Kandivli identified | Bombay News

Mumbai: Three days after an elderly woman died after being hit by a motorist who did not know how to drive, the Kandivli police have established her identity and traced her family. Lukma Jaiswar, 65, was heading to a local temple when the accident happened last Friday. The motorist, Surendra Gupta, was later arrested along with his friend, Rajendra Gupta, who had given him the vehicle and was supposed to guide him from the adjacent seat. Besides Jaiswar, the car hit two male pedestrians who escaped injured. Jaiswar's body will be handed over to his family. Police said she lived at Poisar in Kandivali. Her husband does electrical work. His two sons are based in New Delhi, while his daughters are based in Mumbai. Surendra told police that he stepped on the accelerator instead of braking. tnn
